Barsi Sandil’s story shows what real climate action looks like.

In Libudih, Jharkhand, she balances daily challenges, collecting firewood, tending her farm, and caring for her family of nine; while ensuring her daughters stay in school.

Through Ascendion’s long-standing partnership with SankalpTaru Foundation, 206 fruit-bearing trees were planted on her land in 2025. With remarkable dedication, Barsi has maintained a 97% survival rate.

Today, those saplings are growing into a future source of nutrition, income, and stability.

This Earth Day, her journey reminds us: when we empower communities, we don’t just plant trees—we grow sustainable futures.
