🔎 What is CVI?
CVI stands for Community Violence Intervention- an evidence based approach that focuses on preventing and reducing violence before it happens.
Through trusted community members, street outreach and community partnerships, CVI works to interrupt cycles of violence, support those at highest risk, & build safer, stronger neighborhoods
Stay tuned as we continue more CVI Education and why it matters.

🕊️ September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month — and we can’t talk about su***de without also talking about gun violence.
A few statistics:
•26,000 people die by gun su***de every year in the U.S.
•Nearly six out of every 10 gun-related
deaths are su***des
•Having access to a Firearm triples one’s risk of death by su***de
When guns are present and so easily accessible, attempts are far more likely to end in tragedy.
This month, we honor lives lost, uplift survivors, and remind our community: prevention is possible. By working together to reduce gun violence, support mental health, and build safer communities, we can save lives. 🧡

For community, By community. We love to complain about what’s going on in our community, but how many are willing to pull up a seat to the table to not only talk about problems, but more importantly SOLUTIONS?
Join us this Thursday from 6-8 pm at the MLK Center, where we will hold our monthly Public Safety Roundtable. A chance for us all to come together and discuss all things related to building safer communities.
