Most paintings start long before the brush ever touches watercolor paper.

This little ink sketch is where I work through an idea—finding the shapes, the balance, and the feeling I’m after. I love this stage because nothing has to be perfect. It’s just me, a pen, and the beginning of a story.

Sometimes the simplest sketches end up becoming my favorite paintings.

Lately I’ve been chasing something that’s hard to put into words.

Not perfect landscapes. Not famous places.

I’ve been trying to paint the feeling of quiet roads, open skies, and those moments when the world seems bigger than our worries. Every painting has taught me something different about light, atmosphere, and how a single figure can turn a landscape into a story.

These are a few of the pieces that have come out of that journey recently. I’m grateful for everyone who’s followed along, offered encouragement, or brought one of my paintings into their home. It reminds me why I keep showing up with a brush in my hand.
