State Sen. Larry Selders remembered as devoted father, loyal friend and public servant

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) – Family, friends, and fellow lawmakers gathered Tuesday to say a final goodbye to the late State Sen. Larry Selders, remembering a man whose service to others began long before he entered public office.

As a choir filled the church with music, those who knew Selders reflected on the relationships he built inside the Louisiana State Capitol, throughout Baton Rouge and within his own family.

DEPUTY US MARSHAL KILLED SERVING WARRANT

ALEXANDRIA, La. — A man has been taken into custody after a federal officer was killed in a fugitive hunt in Alexandria.

Authorities were looking to arrest a wanted fugitive near Rutland Road when a shooting involving an officer took place.

Authorities said the shooting happened near Rutland Road.
