“Area and Perimeter Task Cards” 📏📐

What’s the distance around an object or space? What about the inside? Area and perimeter are two concepts that can be difficult for students to grasp, but with our task cards, students can practice how to find both units of measurement! Whether you are given all four sides measurements, or just two, these cards will help students to practice with both methods. Task cards are best used after the student has been introduced to the concept in a whole group lesson, and have also had at least 15-20 minutes of independent practice. 📈

Pop Art in 2nd Grade ✨

As we wrap up our first unit in ELA, I wanted students to remember that school is far more than just reading a book or memorizing math facts. School is art, socialization, health and fitness, and most importantly, finding who you are as an individual. Today, my kiddos learned about Andy Warhol and his contributions to art and culture with pop paintings. They are creating their own pop art to reflect who they are as an individual and will write about why art is important is school. I can’t wait to see their final products 💛
