You can use stretching to tune your fascia system 🧬 and get it to play with the neurology of the pulse-and-release of elastic energy 🔋
But if you stretch fascia elastics away, all you’re left with is muscle. Then you’ve lost your spring, you’ve lost endurance, and you wear out faster in endurance events.
The body responds to specific stimulation. When you put a lot of load through the body🏋🏻♂️ the tissues adapt to become stiffer. When you lay down more bone, it gets stiffer. When you build more muscle strength 💪🏼 and support for the joints, they become stiffer.
In contrast, if all you do is yoga 🧘🏻♀️ and you avoid load, you lose that stiffness... the ability to produce, store and recover athletic force💥, but your body also changes. It loses tissue resiliency. So, it will allow extreme postures, AND strain more easily🥵
