Today, on the Feast of the Ascension, many members of the St. James Place community, along with family and friends, gathered for a joyful celebration of the Holy Eucharist with Bishop Shannon Rogers Duckworth.
Together, we renewed our baptismal covenant and welcomed members more deeply into the life of the Episcopal Church through confirmation, reception, and the reaffirmation of baptismal vows. Surrounded by prayer, scripture, and song, we gave thanks for the ways God continues to draw us together in faith, hope, and love.
During the service, Bishop Duckworth also dedicated a new chalice and paten given in loving memory of a resident whose life remains part of the fabric of this community.
The Feast of the Ascension reminds us that Christ is not absent from us, but present in a new way — lifting our hearts, opening our minds, and sending us into the world bearing his love. We are grateful for this holy morning shared together in joyful worship and a renewed sense of belonging.
