A windy, spring day in Pointe Aux Chenes, Louisiana... A brand new Mirrolure "She Dog"... and a hungry 30" redfish...

That first big fish on topwater was one I will never forget. The explosion as the fish surged halfway out of the water to engulf my bait was a unique combination of violence and elegance.

That one fish would chance the trajectory of my life forever.

Fast forward 7 years and there have been many more fish on topwater, but now the mission has evolved.

I still love chasing fish, but the habitat where those fish live is disappearing from south Louisiana at a rapid rate. Some experts say we lost a football field of marsh every 30 minutes...

In an effort to combat the massive loss of wildlife habitat in south Louisiana, the Topwater Co Team has pledged to donate 1 plug of smooth cordgrass (marsh grass) to Restore or Retreat for every order that is placed on our website in 2025.
