Changing Lives
BRECO, chartered in 1934, was first started by a group of utility employees from the Baton Rouge Electric Company, which merged with Gulf States Utilities in 1938 and then with Entergy in 1994. What started as one employee with a broom closet for an office, has now grown into a full service financial institution serving 5,000 members with $45 million in assets. The major SEGs or Select Employee Groups we serve are Entergy, APTIM, DEMCO, MMR, CAAWS (Capital Area Animal Welfare Society), and IBEW Local 995.
