Neighborly Love
RTBR works FIVE days a week, all year long, to help elderly, veteran and disabled low-income home owners in Baton Rouge. We are unknown, unheard of and mostly invisible. . . . like the people we help. We are completely privately funded with NO government assistance. Check out RT National and visit a few of the 150+ RT Affiliates websites around the country. There’s an affiliate in New Orleans and another in Lafayette. We are homegrown, faith based and passionate about helping those who need a hand Get a hand. Not a hand OUT. If you were able to purchase a home in your lifetime, you were a working, tax paying functioning member of our community and just because you are old and low-income shouldn’t mean you need to live in a home without running water or heat (or a roof or a ramp, etc etc). As a homeowner yourself, you know things break! Many older folks on fixed incomes simply do not have the money for a new water heater, new wheelchair ramp or to repair rotten siding. If you aren’t able to help us physically, help us financially. We stretch a penny four times farther than a contractor and can rebuild a flooded home for $11,000, build a ramp for $1100 and fix a clogged sink for free! Think what could have happened to Baton Rouge if FEMA had given us $150,000 per flooded homeowner instead of buying 2500 trailers with that money!!! (That’s $$375,000,000 on trailers for those without a calculator). . . .
Join us today in our efforts to help. . . . Thank you!
