That’s a wrap!

The 2026 Legislative Session has officially ended with many great accomplishments by the disability community.

➡️$250K restored for Families Helping Families
➡️Over $33M in total funding to help improve HCBS waiver funding
➡️$2M to help people with disabilities find jobs with help from LRS
➡️Act 347 (SB34) creates Bryan’s Call to help find people with I/DD when they go missing
➡️HB352 helps students get better access to ABA in schools
➡️HB1107 failed to complete the process ensuring people with intellectual disabilities facing capital crimes are still treated fairly
➡️HB342 shifts the burden of proof from families to schools in SpEd disputes

You did this! You called, emailed, and showed up to committees to help ensure the I/DD community was heard and protected.

Thank you to the individuals, families, disability organizations, legislators and so many others for your dedication this session.

Advocacy truly does work!
