Interested in nursing, medicine, pharmacy, or ANY healthcare career? Drug testing is mandatory — and it starts earlier than you think.
Before your first clinical rotation in nursing or medical school, you will be drug tested. Hospitals and clinics test new hires, conduct random screenings, and can test after any workplace incident. And yes — even substances that are legal in some states can still disqualify you from a healthcare position.
THC alone can remain detectable in your system for up to 30 days with regular use. One failed test could mean removal from a program you’ve worked years to get into.
The I CARE Program is here to make sure EBR students have the information they need to make smart decisions — before those decisions have consequences they didn’t see coming.
