The first Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans occurred in the late 1850’s, but It took 4 decades before the first all–female Mardi Gras krewe was formed. A lot of tourists, and even locals, don’t realize that women started their own Carnival krewes before the turn of the 20th century, before women had the right to vote. The group, Les Mystᶦerieuses disbanded after organizing only two balls, but it claimed a place in Carnival for women. However, even until now there have still only ever been less than 20 female krewes in New Orleans Mardi Gras history.

There is a new exhibit in New Orleans at The Presbytᶦere, which is located in Jackson Square. “Pioneers of Women’s Carnival,” honors the contributions of women who have put their stamp on Mardi Gras. For more information please visit: https://louisianastatemuseum.org/museum/presbytere

We wish you and your loved ones a wonderful and HAPPY MARDI GRAS 2026!

I've been in this business for a longggg time. 37 years now. In that amount of time I've been blessed with many friendships that sprung from business relationships. Many clients are retiring now, and I want all to know that It means the world to me that you trusted me, and that you gave my company your business again and again. Also, that in the end-when you leave that you reach out to let me know. You're not just a customer. I care about you! Most recently celebrating the retirement of Sandra from Entergy. ❤️🥂
