River Road Twilight
16”x20”
Oil on Panel
$300
New artwork about to head to The Foyer this week. This is the same tree on River Road in Baton Rouge that I painted for the exhibition “For What It’s Worth”. I’m having a blast painting landscapes that have a bit of glow to them. Hope this one finds a happy new place to call home. I almost didn’t put it up for sale because I love it so much.

Little 8x10 drawing I did of my Dad’s sweet pup, Ladybug. I knew for Christmas that he didn’t want something that you could buy at the store. So I went with a personal portrait of one of his favorite creatures. As you can see in the second photo, being a muse is exhausting. 😂

Love this pup so much 🐾 Had a lot of fun making this 8x10 graphite sketch over the holiday break. It’s been a long time since I’ve drawn a pet. Milo was a wonderful subject.

The past 10 days have been challenging but I think my dad is on the mend. So I feel okay posting this now. I don’t want to go into too many details but pneumonia, heart complications and staph can be pretty terrifying. We’re not out of the woods yet. But we are hopeful. Since it is the season for giving thanks, beyond grateful for the following:
1. That my dad is still alive. And he is here to tap his feet to patsy cline. And to wake up in a hospital bed and see me sitting there, have a slight smile and say “hey sweet girl.” Just like when I was a kid.
2. To the amazing Debbie who loves my dad so much and takes amazing care of him. Y’all’s sweet love is wonderful to witness.
3. To terribly crocheted hats in the dark while watching heart and oxygen monitors all night.
4. To sweet fathers who will wear said lumpy mis stitched crocheted hats made by daughters who were looking for something to do with their hands while they anxiously watched heart monitors.
5. To amazing friends and family who show support with texts and calls. I feel so supported I could cry.
6. To amazing bosses and coworkers that say “family comes first” and actually mean it. Letting you take a lot more time off than usual and checking in on how dad was doing throughout the whole ordeal.
7. To incredible nurses and physicians. There are no words for these phenomenal people who are so kind and caring.
8. To hand squeezes when things feel uncertain and out of control.
9. To drawing in order to process the hardships in life. And to fathers who say “yeah that’s me. Good job. That’s impressive” even though it is a drawing of them sleeping and it’s not very impressive.
10. To laughing at dad talking in his sleep and saying “liability paperwork” and imagining what the hell he’s dreaming about.
11. To husbands who solo parent while we go away to tend to a sick parent. Couldn’t do it without sweet Jordan.
12. To the amazing friends who help you get a plane ticket at the last minute so you don’t have to drive for 11+ hours.
13. To sweet moments when your dad says “you are a really good person.”
14. To plates of Thanksgiving food from step siblings delivered to the hospital.
