Through our program, Louisiana Louisiana Community Forests, we are thrilled to partner with LSU AgCenter & Dr. Hallie Dozier to help fund/partner on efforts such as this across the state!
Join us on Wednesday, June 10 at 8:30am to talk about using shade trees to serve as assets to people and property while mitigating the possibility of becoming hinderances down the line!
This is a free event for the public, landscapers and arborists!
The Red River Research station is hosting an event on June 10th focused on using trees to shade your landscape.
Participants will learn how to choose and position shade trees to enhance your property, save energy, and protect your environment.

One of the best parts about trees is that everybody gets to enjoy them 🌿
Andrew Crawford recently shared why he supports Baton Rouge Green, and we loved how simply he put it: “you notice the differences that it makes in our community on a daily basis.”
And it’s true. Whether it’s a greener roadway, more shade at a park, cooler neighborhoods, or just the feeling of driving down a beautiful tree-lined street, urban forestry adds something meaningful to everyday life in Baton Rouge. As Andrew shared, “we see so many assets being added into our community and it just makes a huge improvement for everybody to enjoy.” 💚
We’re so thankful for supporters like and Siemens Energy who believe in helping Baton Rouge grow greener for everyone.
If you’ve ever appreciated the shade of a tree, admired our city’s canopy, or believed Baton Rouge deserves beautiful public spaces, we’d love for you to support our MAY THE FOREST BE WITH YOU Membership Campaign this month 🌲⭐
Together, we can keep growing Baton Rouge’s urban forest for generations to come.
“Our trees are our identity in Baton Rouge.” 🌳
We couldn’t agree more with Rachel DiResto.
From the sweeping live oaks that frame our streets to the pockets of greenery that soften busy roadways, trees are deeply tied to the character, beauty, and health of our city. They clean our air, absorb stormwater, support wildlife, cool our neighborhoods, and create spaces that simply feel better to be in.
Rachel shared something we think about often, once you start noticing where trees are planted, you also notice where they’re missing. And that’s a huge part of Baton Rouge Green’s mission: filling those spaces with canopy, life, and long-term care for our urban forest. 💚
We’re incredibly grateful for supporters like Rachel and Emergent Method who help make this work possible.
If Baton Rouge Green’s mission speaks to you too, we hope you’ll consider joining or renewing during our MAY THE FOREST BE WITH YOU Membership Campaign this month 🌲⭐
Because every tree planted today helps shape the Baton Rouge we leave behind tomorrow.
