We are a few weeks away from another election. .

Some women do not simply teach children — they shape generations.

My elementary school music teacher remained a constant force in Shreveport and in my life for years. She was my Delta Debutante Sponsor, founder of the New Dimensions Youth Chorale, and one of the reasons I became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

From middle school through my senior year, she poured into us through music, discipline, culture, faith, and excellence. I still remember traveling to Baton Rouge for the Festival of Negro Spirituals and singing at Mount Zion First Baptist Church — the very same church I would later join years after moving here for college. Full circle in a way only God could orchestrate.

Thank you for planting seeds that continue to bloom.
