It was a sweet morning yesterday with students of Sacred Heart of Jesus School!

We talked about the differences in the two characters from my book “What a Gift Different Can Be”.
The students agreed that we can be friends with others that are different from us because we are all wonderfully made by God.

Beautiful butterflies were created by the students…it was a special time at a sweet school. 🦋

It was great meeting some of the teachers and a special thank you to Leah for coordinating the visit.

❤️💛💙💚

Thank you St George Catholic School for letting me share my book “What a Gift Different Can Be” with the kindergarten students this week.🦋

These students have kind hearts and were such great listeners and participants as we talked about how wonderfully God has made each one of us.

We also had fun discussing the fun adventures our characters may have in the future.🛶⛷️🏕️🚀🎣

A special thank you to Janie for coordinating my visit!

We are all wonderfully and uniquely made by God, and beautifully created in His image.

If this resonates, I’ve written a children’s book called “What a Gift Different Can Be”.
It is about accepting people as they are and it promotes kindness and friendship.

This quote by Paul Collins is a great reminder on National Autism Day!

“I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…” Psalm 139:14

I loved sharing “What a Gift Different Can Be” with the kindergarten, first and second graders at yesterday!🦋 These sharp students asked great questions and had fun ideas about what adventures our 2 characters might have in the future.

It was a joy to meet some of the teachers and to see how St Thomas More supports students with autism and other developmental differences. You are doing great work STM!💙

Fun Fact: I went to St Thomas More in kindergarten and I have great memories of that year.🖍️

A special thank you to Sara for helping to coordinate my visit!

I loved sharing “What a Gift Different Can Be” with the students at South Live Oak Elementary School! I asked them to give me an idea of what fun adventures our 2 characters might have in the future.
I loved all of the wonderfully imaginative ideas they had. I am certain there are future authors and illustrators at South Live Oak Elementary!
I applaud the school’s inclusivity and I would especially like to thank Corley and Natalie for coordinating my visit! You have a wonderful school!🦋🎨📖✍️
