Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! St. Patrick's Day has been a very special day for me since 2003 because it marks the anniversary of the opening of my business which is the Oreck, Miele & Riccar Vacuum Store and my journey of self employment. Today marks my 21st year of self employment! I love being my own boss and I am very thankful for making it this long especially in the current shopping climate we live in today. I have had to move my business location a few times (I'm now in Baton Rouge instead of New Orleans) and we now sell many other brands and not just Oreck products (Miele vacuums, Riccar vacuums, Simplicity vacuums, Austin Air & Boneco air purifiers to name a few) but I'm still in business 21 years later! Two decades down and 4 years away from a quarter century! I would like to thank all my employees who worked for me throughout the years mainly Mike Fossee and James Nason. I could not have accomplished this with my sanity still intact without these two guys help. Hopefully I can stay in business until October 27th of this year when I make 59 1/2 years old (which I do believe I will...lol) so I don't have to go find a real job "workin' for da man" because then it's all lagniappe time after that. Then I'll have to decide if I want to continue working or retire. I guess we'll see what happens then. Have a great St. Patrick's day everyone!
