We want to send out a special welcome to our newly appointed principal, Mrs.Valencia! We are excited for her to join our amazing Shore Acres community and look forward to see all the great things she will accomplish!

Mt. Diablo Unified School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Ariana Hernandez as the new Principal at Shore Acres Elementary in Bay Point. Ariana began her career as a Kindergarten dual language teacher in West Contra Costa Unified, then continued as a 4th grade dual language teacher in MDUSD. She was the district’s dual language coach for two years before her promotion to vice principal at Oak Grove Middle School two years ago.

Ariana earned her Bachelor’s Degree from UC Davis and her Master’s Degree in Educational Policy and Administration from Loyola Marymount University. She is a first-generation Latina college graduate. During her free time, Ariana enjoys learning about the world through travel and gastronomy. She married her best friend this summer. Together, they enjoy jumping in for a swim at any beautiful body of water they come across. She is excited to start her principalship as “Mrs. Valencia.”
