I feel totally blindsided. We just cleaned out our cabinets throwing out everything from Pepperidge Farm. My son was attracted to the Disney characters used to draw children to the packaging. I didn’t think twice about purchasing it because we grew up with the brand. Then tonight my husband noticed in teeny tiny print: CONTAINS BIOENGINEERED FOOD INGREDIENTS. Now, I was aware that the food choices available for children in the public school system contained GMO’s, notice the Cheerios package. But for some strange reason, I trusted Pepperidge Farm and didn’t pay close attention to the label. Bioengineered Food Ingredients play a major role in the destruction of the microbiome (your gut) and its function in children. So many of our children’s digestive issues stem from what we (parents) feed them. I share this as a lesson learned: Read ALL labels and whenever you can avoid GENETICALLY MODIFIED INGREDIENTS or Bioengineered Food Products that are incompatible with human functional physiology.
