BREAKING: Washington County, Oregon’s Emergency Small Business Assistance Program will open for applications tomorrow (April 15).
To help bridge the gap as businesses await state and federal assistance, Washington County, Oregon has developed the Emergency Small Business Assistance Program which will provide two types of assistance. First, there will be $300,000 available in grant funds through Micro Enterprise Services of Oregon (MESO). Second, there will be two loan programs, one with MESO for up to $10,000 and one with Craft3 for loans of $10,000 to $25,000.
Applications for both the grant and the loan programs will go live at 8 a.m. Wednesday (April 15) and will be open until 5 p.m. Thursday (April 16).
The criteria for both loans and grants are the same. Qualifying businesses are those that:
· Are negatively affected by the current COVID-19 outbreak;
· Are physically located in Washington County and serve county residents;
· If the business is part of a chain, business is an individually owned franchise;
· Had no more than 25 employees at any time between Jan. 1 and March 23, 2020;
· Have not received funds from similar programs established within the county (e.g. cities, Washington County Visitors' Association); and
· Have been in operation for at least one year.
