She recently turned 46 years old left the National Guard after 13 years in January to fulfill her long dream of serving in the Active duty Army. She was willing to change her Job in the Army if needed, as long she was given the opportunity to serve full time. As a Preventive Medicine Specialist in the Army Reserves, you'll be a major contributor when it comes to keeping the Army healthy and preventing the spread of infection and disease. You'll conduct laboratory tests to monitor the spread of bacteria, keep health records, and survey and track conditions for potential risks. Serving 1-weekend per month and 2 weeks of Annual training in the Summer.

You’ll have the skills and training necessary to recommend proper corrective actions to ensure good health for our Soldiers.

Qualifications and Training

To enter into this MOS, recruits must receive a minimum score of 101 on the Skilled Technical (ST) portion of the ASVAB test.

After passing all required testing, recruits will attend 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training.

Upon successful completion of Basic Training, soldiers will go to Advanced Individual Training for 15 weeks.

AIT consists of classroom and on-the-job instruction including practice in testing specimens.

Skills that are helpful in this MOS include:
•Ability to follow detailed instructions
•Interest in work that involves biology, chemistry and algebra
•Science and technical work interest

Potential incentives if Qualified:

- Montgomery GI Bill over $13,000 (Paid over 36-48-72 Academic months)
