Music In Small Spaces

Our next Music in Small Spaces series concert, sponsored by the Beaverton Arts Commission, will be an afternoon concert appropriate for the season on Sunday, April 8 at 2:30 p.m. in the Beaverton City Library Auditorium (12375 SW Fifth Street).

“Love in the Time of Shakespeare” features love songs from the time of Henry VIII, Elizabeth I and William Shakespeare.

“Enjoying music on a spring afternoon is a unique way to spend time with friends and family,” said Mayor Denny Doyle. “This performance of songs from a bygone era will expand our knowledge of music.”

Featured performers are Gayle and Philip Neuman and friends, members of the Early Music Guild of Oregon. The musicians are multi-talented, building many of their own instruments, teaching music history at Marylhurst University, conducting classes in Early Music and performing at the Community Music Center of Portland. They have performed in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, as well as across the United States. For more information about the performers, visit www.emgo.org.

The doors open at 2 p.m. for the 2:30 p.m. performance. Tickets are available at the door. Students and seniors are $5 and general admission tickets are $9.
