Beaverton Resource Guide

READER COMMENT: I picked up the paper inside the main Beaverton library. My favorite story was actually three stories, all related to mental or physical health. They were “Stress and the scale,” “Why you may not get enough Vitamin D,” and “Slow down to speed up.” I was also very touched by “Another baby arrives at the Oregon Zoo.” I always enjoy the animal stories, and hope every animal waiting to be adopted gets a loving home.

As usual, I enjoyed reading the articles in the paper this month. Although I am not necessarily interested in every topic in the paper, the fact they are all fairly short makes me at least skim through almost all of them. I am often pleasantly surprised afterwards at how interesting and informative they actually were, and how I am now more interested in those topics!

CITY NEWS: City Park Fountain Grand Reopening is May 7! This year, we recognize the start of the fountain season with special fanfare to mark the grand reopening after completion of the fountain renovation and sharing this major milestone with community partners who helped make the renovation project a reality.
“We are so excited for the fountain to finally be open again,” said Mayor Beaty. “This has been a long time in the making and I am so stoked to welcome the community back!”
The festivities will kick-off at 4 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
After, enjoy family friendly activities, performances and art. Food from Whabii, Lupita’s Ochoa’s Tacos, and ice cream from Ome Calli will be available for purchase.

READER COMMENT: Dear editor, I picked up the paper at Fred Meyer on Walker road. I like the article about March mulching, hidden environmental cost to electric vehicles, and reading about all the local restaurants. I also like seeing the city park fountain grand opening advertisement. I like seeing all the things we can do in Beaverton. I like coupons and kid related things. Thanks!
