Hi All,
The ARRL DX CW contest kicks off at 0:00 UTC on Saturday and runs for 48 hours (Friday evening in the USA). This contest is especially good because all the DX has to work North American stations. In other words, the world will be calling those of us here in the US!!
You'll find the complete rules here:
https://www.arrl.org/arrl-dx
And the logging software here (don't forget to enable HamDash):
https://www.n3fjp.com/intdx.html
Even if CW isn't your strength, please give it a try. If you can recognize your call and a couple numbers for power, you will be all set. You'll likely be surprised how fast a speed that you can identify your call! There are folks in our group who don't know CW at all, but work CW tests well using CW readers like CW Skimmer and MRP40.
Lord willing, I am planning to bring a good effort for this one!
Enjoy!

Hi All,
CQ WPX RTTY is this weekend and runs 0000 UTC Saturday to 2359 UTC Sunday!
CQ WPX is really cool! Everyone can work everyone for points and multipliers, so you don't need a robust DX station to make a lot of Qs. In addition to DX, there will be plenty of stateside stations to work too!
The exchange is just 599 and a progressive serial number. Multipliers are simply prefixes. For example, W3, N3, NE3, WC3, K3, KA3, KB3, etc. are each separate prefixes that each count as multipliers.
You'll find the complete rules here:
https://www.cqwpxrtty.com/rules.htm
And the logging software for this contest (which takes care of the serial numbers for you automatically) here:
https://www.n3fjp.com/cqwpx.html
Several free digital programs that interface with our software are here:
https://www.n3fjp.com/faq.html
If you need sample macros for your digital software, this will get you going:
http://www.nemarc.org/macros.html
Please install and connect your digital software to our CQ WPX software as detailed here:
https://www.n3fjp.com/help/digitalsetup.html
Getting the software set up is easy and we are happy to help before the contest starts, but once we are in contest mode, the support hat comes off!!!
Lord willing, I am hoping to bring a good effort for this one and work you on RTTY this weekend!
Enjoy!!!
