We have retired and closed our doors for business. We thank our wonderful clients for years of making Alvin Goldfarb Jeweler a truly special place. It has been our great pleasure to be part of your lives. Your friends, Alvin Goldfarb Jeweler.

As we reflect on the last 45 years, we realize the words “We LOVE to see you smile!” and “Something to CELEBRATE!” were much more than lyrics to our jingle. These words inspired us daily.

Our mission was to make you happy and to help you celebrate the important occasions of your life.

As Steven liked to say, “Every day we GET to go to work!”

Whether we were helping a young couple get engaged, marking a milestone occasion, hosting an in-store birthday party or special event, or simply assisting you with a repair, our store radiated joy.
We often heard that it had “a good energy”. That was due to YOU! And we are endlessly grateful to you, our friends and community, for your smiles, your celebrations, and for letting us be part of your lives! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Looking back at our history, something we are very proud of is our support of the community and various philanthropic activities.

This desire to be a good “corporate citizen” and work to improve the quality of life in our surrounding community came straight from the top.

Alvin and Steven maintained that helping others was the right thing to do and would be part of our culture. And it was. We tried to say “yes” as often as possible, and supported hundreds of non-profits over the years.

We especially enjoyed coming up with creative and unique fund-raising activities. Some examples were “game shows”, “pick-a-prize raffles” and bejeweled models where a guest chose his/her favorite piece. A favorite project was teaming with Greet Magazine to present a cash gift to “Best Teacher of the Year.”

Another memorable one was “the Hutch Mad Dash” in 2007. A random guest at the Hutch Holiday Gala was selected. She was given 30 seconds to run through our store and select one item to take home. A camera streamed this live straight into the ballroom with the theme to “Mission Impossible” playing and the crowd cheering her on. All participants received a pair of custom AGJ sneakers Nike created for us.

In addition to donating, volunteerism was encouraged and Alvin, Jackie, Steven,Fredda Goldfarb and many employees throughout the years served on boards and volunteered their time and talent in various ways.

Organizations that we supported included: The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Children’s Hospital, Mary’s Place, Seattle Children’s Theatre, Seattle Humane, Bellevue Boys and Girl’s Club, The Detlef Schrempf Foundation, The United Way, Overlake Hospital, The USO, VA Puget Sound Medical Center, and Bellevue Boys and Girls Club,Seattle Swedish Hospital, NOAH No kill Animal Shelter,Plymouth Housing Group, Washington State DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America)and many more.

It was our joy and honor to support and be part of this wonderful community!
