We want to take a moment to remember two exceptional members of our team who we lost last year as they fought to defend Ukraine’s freedom. Artem Borodavka and Yana Rykhlitska were taken far too soon from this world, and are dearly missed. Though they are no longer here with us, their memory lives on - they used their too-brief time on this Earth to live with such bravery, selflessness, care for others, and dedication to protecting their country that they’ve deeply impacted us, leaving behind legacies that continue on.

Artem, our committed Business Analyst, joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the outbreak of the war. His humor and sincerity remained steadfast as he defended his homeland in the Kharkiv region, ultimately giving his life for his country. We remember Artem as a joyful, genuine, and compassionate man. To us, he is a hero and a true Ukrainian who defended his homeland with unwavering dedication until the very end. He will forever remain in our hearts. We extend our deepest gratitude to Artem and all the defenders for their profound love for their country, and for their extraordinary bravery in safeguarding their Motherland.

Yana, a Lead IT Recruiter at Akvelon, was more than just a brilliant member of our team at Akvelon; she was a bright light, radiating positivity and inspiration that warmed everyone around her. When the war started, she bravely stepped forward to serve as a paramedic, risking her own life to save the lives of her fellow Ukrainians on the front lines. In the few moments of spare time that she had away from the front lines, she volunteered to help raise funds to source and deliver medical aid to Ukrainian medics. We cannot even begin to count the many lives she helped save, nor those that she continues to save through her enduring inspiration to others.
