AFJA is taking three deserving young people from Los Angeles to the FIFA World Cup today. Let that sink in. Yesterday, we showed up at two homes carrying three letters and one unforgettable surprise. Inside each letter was the same message: You’re going to the FIFA World Cup. For a few moments, time stood still. There were smiles. There were tears. There was disbelief. And there was the kind of joy that reminds you what this beautiful game is really about. Freddy. Leeza. Carlos. Three incredible young people. Three unique journeys. Three reasons to believe in the power of community. Today, they’ll walk into SoFi Stadium and experience USA 🇺🇸 vs. Paraguay 🇵🇾 at the biggest sporting event in the world. This moment would not have been possible without the extraordinary generosity of Dr. Nima Foroutan and Elham Foroutan, who chose to invest in the lives of young people they had never met. To our AFJA family, supporters, donors, volunteers, and community partners—thank you. Every fundraiser, every contribution, every act of kindness helps create moments like this. Because the World Cup is about more than soccer. It’s about hope. It’s about opportunity. It’s about showing young people that no matter where they come from or what challenges they’ve faced, they are worthy of extraordinary experiences.
