🚀 We are proud to present the GIX Innovation Competition 2022 judges! These experienced professionals will select winners from the ten finalists on Feb 16. More than $15,000 in cash and prizes are up for grabs!
Adam Loving graduated with a CS degree from UW before working in a range of companies from startups to large organizations. He is now is principal engineer at Pioneer Square Labs where he helps validate and launch startup teams.
Ted Fuse is Vice President and General Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation Seattle. In his 25 years at Mitsubishi Corporation, he has worked in business development in various fields including clean energy and decarbonization.
Deli Zhang is a software engineer at Meta, where he leads development of capacity management tooling. Previously, he worked at Microsoft Research as a Senior Research Software Development engineer working to improve datacenter efficiency.
Aaron Nech is a Software Engineering Manager for Meta and is currently working on Facebook's new smart glasses project. Previously Aaron was a technical lead / engineer at Facebook in which he built and set direction for parts of Facebook Marketplace, now a prominent part of the Facebook App.
Keyu Chen is a research scientist at Google. His research is the intersection of sensing and machine learning, particularly in HCI, ubiquitous computing, wearables / mobile sensing and novel interaction.
Gabe Cohn is a principal researcher at Microsoft Research, where he works in the Biomedical Computing Group on improving the processing of large-scale genomic workloads in the cloud. He was a co-founder of SNUPI Technologies, a sensor and services company built around his Ph.D. thesis work on the SNUPI ultra-low-power wireless sensor network, and acquired by Sears in 2015.

"We ran a test by having the robot navigate through the crowded Labs, but we didn’t tell people there was a test. We got a lot of data about how people naturally interact with robots in the real world."
Hear from MSTI grad Daniel Azua and learn about how his team worked to combine a Fetch Robotics mobile robot base with a Kinova robotic arm with computer vision and AI to create an intelligent automated stockroom retrieval system.
