What an adventure these past three months have been!

Running for local office is a privilege I do not take lightly. It has been an honor meeting so many of you in our community through this journey. Though I will not be serving on the Beloit Board of Education, I will continue to seek out ways to stand in support of our youth—they are the future of Beloit, and we NEED them to succeed.

I believe the children in our city are ALL capable of amazing things—including the ability to thrive in the most essential educational skills like reading, writing, and math. I will not forget the many students in our district who have yet to reach proficiency in these VITAL life skills. ♥️

A heartfelt thanks goes out to those of you who have stood with me in this endeavor of seeking a seat on the school board. Your words of encouragement and many other ways of support have meant so much to me as there are people out there who continuously misjudge and malign me as a person.

Nevertheless, I encourage other everyday citizens to not be afraid of running for local office if you feel inspired to do so! If I can do it as a pregnant mom of four little kids and a fairly new member of the community with few connections, I am confident that you can, too. Do not be afraid to stand up for what you believe is right! I firmly believe we all have something to offer to this community.

I will continue to pray for the wisdom of all our local elected leaders as they make crucial decisions that impact every single one of us in this community.

¡Qué aventura han sido estos últimos tres meses!

Postularme a un cargo local es un privilegio que no me tomo a la ligera. Ha sido un honor conocer a tantos de ustedes en nuestra comunidad a través de este viaje. Aunque no estaré sirviendo en la Junta de Educación de Beloit, continuaré buscando formas de apoyar a nuestros jóvenes— ellos son el futuro de Beloit y los NECESITAMOS para tener éxito.

Creo que TODOS los niños de nuestra ciudad son capaces de cosas asombrosas— incluida la capacidad de prosperar en las habilidades educativas más esenciales como la lectura, la escritura y las matemáticas. No olvidaré a los muchos estudiantes de nuestro distrito que todavía tienen que alcanzar el dominio de estas habilidades vitales para la vida. ♥️

Un sincero agradecimiento a aquellos de ustedes que me han apoyado en este esfuerzo de buscar un puesto en la junta escolar. Sus palabras de aliento y muchas otras formas de apoyo han significado mucho para mí, ya que hay personas que continuamente me juzgan mal y me calumnian como persona.

Sin embargo, animo a otros ciudadanos comunes a no tener miedo de postularse para un cargo local si se sienten inspirados para hacerlo. Si yo puedo hacerlo como una madre embarazada de cuatro niños pequeños y un miembro relativamente nuevo de la comunidad con pocas conexiones, confío en que usted también puede hacerlo. ¡No tengas miedo de defender lo que crees que es correcto! Creo firmemente que todos tenemos algo que ofrecer a esta comunidad.

Continuaré orando por la sabiduría de todos nuestros líderes electos locales mientras toman decisiones cruciales que impactan a cada uno de nosotros en esta comunidad.
