Students in the Culinary 2 Summer Academy Blackhawk Technical College spent two exciting days creating a variety of delicious dishes while sharpening essential kitchen skills! 🍽

Throughout the academy, students practiced proper knife-handling techniques, work station organization, food safety, and sanitation procedures. Working together as a team, they planned, prepared, and shared meals while gaining hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment.

From prepping ingredients to plating their finished creations, students were able to see, feel, and taste what a future in the culinary industry could look like. Each day wrapped up with reflection on their accomplishments and conversations about the many career opportunities available in the culinary field. 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

🩺 SCRUBS: WEEK THREE 🩺

During our third Scrubs session at , students explored the world of healthcare through exciting hands-on activities! Students worked with the Anatomage Table, participated in a virtual stent placement activity, learned about EKGs, and stepped into the role of a Medical Assistant by checking hemoglobin and A1C levels in the lab. It was an engaging experience that gave students a closer look at the many opportunities within the healthcare field.
