First family ski of the season! Very soggy and sloppy but lots of smiles and tail wags.

Reminder, 2022 is quickly coming to a close, and we have just a few open slots available before the start of the new year. If you have been thinking of coming to see us, now could be the perfect time to use your health benefits before the year comes to a close!

Does your health plan have an FSA or HSA? OMPT accepts FSA and HSA payments! These funds can be used for injury recovery, movement or mobility restriction, recovery sessions, or performance training visits!

FSA: a Flexible Spending Account is typically owned by the employer and expires at the end of the year with no rollover!

HSA: a Health Savings Account is typically owned by the individual and rolls over from one year to the next.

Both of these accounts can be used at OMPT to cover the cost of care.

Do not let your $$$ go to waste; click the link in our bio to book a session, or send us a DM today! 541-728-3779

With winter officially upon us, the cold, short, and dark days can take a toll on our motivation for movement and self-care. However, this is a crucial time of year to prioritize listening to your body, honoring its needs, and making extra time for wellness routines. Here are 10 of my favorite tips for making the most of the winter months.

If you are looking for individualized guidance on incorporating any of these items into your routine, reach out, we are here to help support you in living and feeling your best this winter.

Training tip Thursday: consistency over time.

Like most worthwhile and/or hard things in life, there is no quick fix to fitness. A mentor of mine once said “you can’t cook a brisket in a microwave”.

Unfortunately, we have become a two- day Amazon prime quick fix seeking society.

This is your reminder to commit to slow and steady progress over time. Find something that you enjoy and can stick with. For me this is 10+ years of lifting and CrossFit. For you it make be something completely different, but it should be fun and in line with your goals.

If you need help discovering what that thing is reach out, we are here to help you be your best self.

Have you wondered why training blocks are typically 8-12 weeks?

This is the typical time frame in which adaptations to resistance or endurance training become evident.

The first phase of training (2-4 weeks) generally results in adaptations to our connective tissue and skill development (neuromuscular adaptations). Then we generally see muscular growth and strength gains around the 8-12 week mark.

Try aiming for a minimum timeframe of 8 weeks with your training in order to begin to see the results of your hard work!
