Aight, so this post was supposed to go up on October 20th, but somehow... it never made it. And because it's important to us to recognize s**t from countries and people and places that aren't America or American, we're posting it now.

Even though the representative democracy that resulted result from today (in 1944) lasted only ten years—and those were the only years of representative democracy in Guatemala from 1930 until the end of the civil war in 1996—people fought for those ten years. They were a lifetime of spring.

But there's also the frank mouths of the east coast—the directness of that place which raised me. The sentiments and questions and answers given with no f**ks given. Which is not to say without care or heart. Because believe me they've got so much of that s**t you don't even know.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
