Our season finale, DIE FLEDERMAUS, is coming June 19th & 21st!

MEET THE CAST:

Sterling Roberts (Yvan) is both a baritone and choral educator. He performed in OperaBend's Bend Singer Showcase earlier this season. Prior to this, he was seen in the chorus of The Barber of Seville (2025), and was the Baritone Soloist in the Fauré Requiem in October of 2024 with the Central Oregon Mastersingers.

A transplant from Southern California and a graduate of both the University of California Irvine and Portland State University, Sterling has received degrees in Vocal Performance (B.M.), Choral Conducting (M.M.) and Education (M.Ed). He has been a chorus member in the productions of Rigoletto (2023) and Aida (2022) with Opera in the Park Portland, and has been featured both as a soloist in the 2017 NAXOS album Ēriks Ešenvalds: The Doors of Heaven with the Portland State Chamber Choir and as the Bass Soloist in the Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy with the Oregon Symphony in 2015.

Sterling currently teaches choir at Cascade MS and Pacific Crest MS in Bend, OR, is an active member of both the Central Oregon Mastersingers and Bend Camerata, and is the current Choir Director at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Central Oregon. In his spare time, he enjoys walks in the many beautiful parks around town, catching a movie at the Old Mill District, finding a news series to binge-watch, going on coffee adventures, and finding karaoke spots to sing around town.
