We're a little bit halfway through Kentucky Gives Day and every dollar is adding up. As of noon, we've raised $1,478 toward our $8,510 goal. That's 32 motel rooms funded.

To put $8,510 in perspective: just $46 provides one motel room for a neighbor with nowhere else to go. Last season, we provided 2,457 motel rooms across 75 nights of emergency shelter. That's 2,457 times a neighbor had a warm, safe place to sleep instead of facing the uncertainty of the coldest winter nights.

I won’t bother you until later tonight, but I wanted to share with you a reason to give between 5 and 6 PM today: the After-Work Boost Match is a one-to-one match on every online gift made during that hour. Give $50, we receive $50. Give $100, we receive $100. The match caps at $100 per gift, so that's the sweet spot, but every dollar above that still goes directly to RITI. ONE day left till ! Room In The Inn Berea has ONE central mission “to provide hospitality and emergency shelter to our unhoused neighbors in the winter months.”

For 8 years—through changing models, leadership, and new challenges every season—we have been united in this mission. And we couldn't do it without you. Together, we have fed guests, sheltered guests, and collaborated with countless volunteers and donors. In the early days, mattresses were moved from church to church and bedding washed every night of the season. In our most recent one, we even delivered food over iced parking lots.

For 8 years now, we have been dedicated to ensuring that none of our neighbors freeze to death in the winter months.

Our fundraising goal of $8,510 would cover one night of hotel rooms for 185 guests, which is the number of unique individuals we served during Season 8.

🌼 As we get closer to , we are reflecting on sweet moments from past seasons. 🌼

In February of 2023, during the middle of our 5th season of Room In the Inn, we were already seeing signs of spring time- and signs of hope. One of our guests came into our room in Union Church for dinner and brought with her a bouquet of beautiful handpicked flowers. She brought tears to the eyes of the volunteers as she said she had picked them with hope that she could bring even just a little brightness into their day, since RITI had brought much light into her life. 💛

Remember: we are only able to provide bright moments to our guests, our volunteers, and our community because of YOUR gifts and support!

So far, we have raised enough money for 9 rooms for one night- about 5% of our total fundraising goal. And we’re EXCITED to see that number grow across the next few days!
