Family 🙌🏻

I have two kids (ages 15 & 13)

This is my oldest, Asher. He also happens to be the only one who lets me post pictures of him. His name means “happy” and there is no more perfect way to describe him.

My younger son is named Toby. He is the negotiator of the bunch. We learned early on that you needed to be quick to outmaneuver him.

This past week Toby was chillin’ on the couch with me when he said (unprompted), “Thank you for working so hard”. It took me by surprise so I asked him why he said that. His response was, “You work so hard and even when you are tired you are never too tired for us or your clients”.

I do work hard, and it felt good for that to be recognized.

I do work hard AND I protect my free time as much as possible.

In new client interviews I tell everyone that I don’t work Saturdays (non-negotiable) and I try to limit my evening work.

As much as possible, I make sure my personal appointments don’t invade my work hours so that my work hours don’t invade my personal time. It’s a constant balance.

I find it empowering to show my boys that you can be both a hard worker and a dedicated parent. Being a good Mom does not mean that I can’t be professionally driven AND being professionally driven doesn’t mean that I can’t be a good Mom.

I am very particular about what I model to my kids. I want my boys to feel empowered to build a well-rounded life for themselves in the future (if they choose).

How do you find your balance?

The “gold standard” is a *fully disclosed buyer*.

What does that mean? 🤔

It means that the happiest, most fulfilled buyers are buyers that know EXACTLY what they’re buying. Hence, “fully disclosed”.

When the seller’s disclosures are lacking, or if there is a specific material item that our buyers are curious about, it’s our job as agents to “matchmake” them with the appropriate service provider so they can track down answers to their questions.

As agents, it’s not our job to have the answers, but it is our job to advocate for our clients and make sure that they are satisfied and educated. Often times this means calling in a professional so that our buyers can hear from the source.

This morning, we invited local legend Nick Ridge to inspect a home with our buyers. We learned so much about the home, an hour buyers are only more confident about putting their best foot forward in an offer!
