John Konicki, Center for Right-Wing Studies grad student, received the 2026 Mike Synar Graduate Research Fellowship for his paper, "Ideological Resentment: The Role of Asymmetric Grievances in Conservative Politics." Each year, the Institute of Governmental Studies awards three Mike Synar Graduate Research Fellowships to distinguished UC Berkeley graduate students who are writing their dissertations on an aspect of American politics.
