UCBUGG: 3D Modeling & Animation

This semester’s students of UCBUGG and AFA have been working hard all Spring to make their stories come to life. Come out to our showcase to watch the premiere of these 3D & 2D short films, and find out more about the animation decals offered at Cal!

About the courses:
- UCBUGG: 3D Modeling & Animation
— This DeCal guides students of all skill levels through the 3d animation production pipeline, using Autodesk Maya, Pixar's Renderman, and various Adobe software.

- AFA: Art for Animation
— In this Decal, students develop storyboards, concept art, character designs, and eventually an animatic for their own individual projects, while also receiving an introduction to traditional 2D animation techniques.​

Ever wanted to learn more about how your favorite 3d animations were made, or even create your own, but didn’t know where to start? If so, then UCBUGG is the DeCal for you!
Through UCBUGG, students explore every aspect of the production process, from storyboarding, to 3D modeling, shading, rigging, animation, VFX, and more. Students will work in groups to create their very own animated short film. No experience is necessary!
