Seven years ago this week, our team joined Partition witnesses at a pre-screening of Bharat, the film. Salman Khan posted photos of the event a couple days later. Have you seen the film?

Thank you The 1947 Partition Archive for getting us to meet so many families who shared their experiences and memories. Bharat Katrina Kaif

MAY 24 - Today is the final day of our exhibit, “10,000 Memories,” displayed at the Los Altos History Museum in Los Altos, California. The exhibit charts the global story of European colonialism via the various East India Companies, honing in on the British East India Company and its annexation of South Asian kingdoms and empires over two centuries to create British India. The exhibit tells the story of British Raj in South Asia, the various freedom struggles, including the World War I era Gadhar Movement which was headquartered in San Francisco, and the various freedom struggles, many lesser known, during World War II. The exhibit then goes on to highlight the 1947 Partition experience, especially of local Los Altos residents.

We’re grateful to our local supporters in 2025 for contributing to making our work in general possible and specifically this exhibit. Thank you:
