"The body is the shore on the ocean of the self." (sufi)
Mařenka Cerny, MFT www.somatic-psychothera For 21 years I practiced therapeutic massage.

release unprocessed emotions out of your body👇🏼

both chronic stress and trauma cause you to disconnect from yourself & shutdown both physically & emotionally 🥹

this is a coping mechanism that happens when your emotions are too overwhelming or distressing to process in the moment 😮‍💨

disconnecting from your body manifests as dissociation, overeating or under-eating, feeling numb, addiction, workaholism, not being able to feel your feelings, and ignoring basic self-care 🥹

these are not moral failures & they’re not your fault!

they’re autonomic, unconscious reactions to the amount of trauma that you’ve been through 🥹

your body & your emotions shut down in an effort to protect you, and for a short period of time this can be helpful to getting through your day to day ✨

BUT! at a certain point these trauma responses no longer are helpful, and instead you know that you want to get your full self back 🙌🏼

somatic trauma releasing exercises are a clear pathway into reconnecting to your body & your emotions 💖

these exercises release stored trauma & the unprocessed emotions that’ve been making you feel stuck, disconnected or dissociated 🙌🏼

after you release, you’ll feel significantly better both physically and emotionally ✨

your unexplained physical pain will be gone and you’ll have a ton more energy 💪🏼

you’ll feel emotionally stable & regulated ✨

releasing stored trauma disrupts your body’s habitual stress response, allowing your body to return to its natural, balanced state 🙌🏼

do you want to release stored trauma and unprocessed emotions from your body?

get guided through the step by step 👇🏼

So many different ways of accessing the mind through the body.
Be sure to distinguish ‘regular emotions’ from emotional trauma.
I recommend Pete Walker’s 13 steps for recovering from an emotional flashback, to be the go-to steps before feeling any feeling that is overwhelming in any way, especially when by yourself. 💕

✂️ 33 years old and learning Circling learning how not in tuned I am with emotions... reading half a dozen books on emotions and still not know 04/18/2024

I love this quote by Artem Zen in conversation with Guy Sengstock about Circling because it exemplifies what I think is universal and such a missing key for so many people about feelings and experience: 😍 “33 years old, learning Circling, and learning how not in tuned I am with my feelings and emotions... 👉🏼 after reading half a dozen books on emotions and 👉🏼still not knowing how to navigate them, and then coming into this and✨ getting a taste of, oh this is how you do it — through practice!! 😳 Through relationship! 😃 In the moment, not when I’m sitting, reading a book,🤔 and everything’s calm, 😌 but in the moment when something’s activated, 🫤 and seeing, oh, what is this like? 😯 how I’m behaving, 🥹🥸🤓 and how I’m reacting 😏😋 or responding to it.” 🥳

Say no sooner…don’t lead them on.

Managing expectations by being direct. It’s not always easy! As social beings as well as sovereign individuals we naturally have empathy for the inevitable negative impact we have on others. However unintended. Especially when we disappoint them. It can help along with the ‘no’ if there is something to say or do to acknowledge something about them, or to emphasize your care for the relationship. Maintaining security in relationships requires regular mutual recognition of the meaning and value we have for one another.

Polysecure by Jessica Fern, narrated by Jessica Fern, Eve Rickert, Nora Samaran:

Polysecure Check out this great listen on Audible.com. Attachment theory has entered the mainstream, but most discussions focus on how we can cultivate secure monogamous relationships. What if, like many people, you’re striving for secure, happy attachments with more than one partner? Polya...
