Northside Alive
Northside Alive is a community-driven neighborhood revitalization process launched in 2018
05/18/2026
Friendship Park is officially reopened, and the Northside showed up.
Saturday’s ribbon cutting and block party brought together neighbors, families, city leaders, state partners, GS Troop 8747, vendors, food trucks, and so many people who helped celebrate a park shaped by community input.
Thank you to Mayor J. William Reynolds, Celina Daddario, Northside Alive Neighborhood Coordinator, Rep. Steve Samuelson, Joe Kelly from Senator Lisa Boscola’s office, PA DCNR, Northside Alive, city staff, and everyone who came out. As Bethlehem continues its 40 in 10 plan to improve 40+ parks over the next 10 years, Friendship Park is a beautiful example of how public spaces can bring people together.
