Because the hype surrounding the supergroup was so high following the breakup of Cream, the show sold out completely, even though their self-titled debut album hadn't even hit the shelves yet.
The iconic live photograph of Eric Clapton was taken by rock photographer Thom Lukas. He captured this specific frame during the tour's opening night at Madison Square Garden on July 12, 1969.
