Chioma what do you think about the declaration by the pope

First of all let us tell a little bit of back story

The church just concluded a synod and issues such as will the church accept gay marriages and polygamy came up.

The church said they will not change their stand on homosexuality and polygamy.

Marriage is still between a male man and a female woman as stipulated by three Bible. Also a valid marriage is between one male man and one male woman. No negotiations on that.

However, as human beings irrespective of what situations we are living in, be it adultery, fornication, homosexuality, guilt of murder, guilt of being a thief, robber, or even an assassin. Whether we are prostitiutes like Mary Magdalene, or corrupt government officials like Zacheaus and Mathew or if we are hypocritical religious leaders like Nicodemus and the Pharisees.. we all at some point are in need of Gods mercy and grace and we seek it even from the dept of sin.

Therefore, if an individual living in these situations ever came up to a priest asking for blessing, the priest should bless the Individual. Just the way a thief or pr******te can come to seek gods blessings.

These blessings do not happen within a formal setting and they are individual blessings and never suffices as marriage blessing.

It is not like any of this is new. Where I live in the USA priest bless everything including dogs, cats and all kinds of pets.
Back home in Nigeria we bless any and everything including salt used in bathing 🧽 and even oil used in cooking.

I am still looking for where the Pope said bless a homosexual union. Or bless a polygamous union.

This outcry we have now is akin to how the Jews and the Pharisees dragged Jesus for dining with sinners and allowing a pr******te wash his feet.

If Christ was to walk among us today… he will not discriminate against anyone because of their sexual orientation.

I hope my little understanding of the document helps anyone who genuinely wants to understand it.

As for those looking for reasons to say the catholic church is evil… una mind no go touch ground because this is not the first time the church is dealing with a sensitive issue such as this.

Man is evolving and as a church we need to cater for the evolution
