We wish you the best in your future as an intern or licensed funeral director. Thank you for pursuing funeral service.
Our philosophy is that it all starts with ATTITUDE. Our goal is to continue our family tradition of helping families whether it is a full service earth burial, direct cremation, memorial service, direct burial or pre-arrangement. Attention to detail and options are important for families, society and the funeral home. We strive to follow the Golden Rule and believe in win, win, win and win. The family wins, the community wins, you as an individual win and the funeral home wins. We are interested in the future as well as the present. Attention to detail is very important. On time means arriving ten minutes early. We expect you to have enough pride in yourself, the families WE serve and our funeral home that if you see something that needs to be done, you will take care of it yourself if appropriate, notify the proper professional person or notify the office.
We are located in Lansdale, Pennsylvania and serve over 500 families a year in a facility that was built as a funeral home, added a crematory and has adequate parking but as you know, or will find out, there are times that there is never enough parking. Your attitude, attention to detail, drive and appearance will determine your future in life and at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home whether you are interested in a position as a licensed funeral director, intern or a part-time position while you are completing your mortuary school education. Please see our website www.huffandlakjer.com. Please reply with resume to [email protected] and copy [email protected] to discuss particulars and options.

NCC Funeral Service Students Complete NFDA Funeral Arranger Training
Bethlehem, PA — The Northampton Community College Funeral Service Education Class of 2026 successfully completed the Student Funeral Arranger Training on Sunday, September 8.
The specialized training was provided by the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), the world’s leading and largest funeral service association. Students gained practical skills in funeral arrangement conferences, communication strategies, and best practices for serving families with compassion and professionalism.
The course was led by Lanae Strovers, NFDA Educator, who brought extensive experience and industry insight to the session. Strovers guided students through real-world scenarios, offering both instruction and mentorship as they prepare for careers in funeral service.
“This training represents an important milestone for our students,” said program leadership. “It connects classroom learning with the professional standards and expectations of the funeral service industry.”
The Class of 2026 will continue their studies in preparation for graduation and licensure, building upon the foundation established through this NFDA-sponsored training.
We are looking for a body transporter for the funeral service program. I you or know someone that would be interested, share/click the link below. It is a part-time position.
