Starting off our senior spotlights this week with Cadet Kent!

Kent is a recent graduate from DeSales University with a degree in History. He will be joining the Army as an Active Duty Infantry Officer. He is Air Assault qualified, and has earned his silver GAFB and Bronze Norwegian Foot March. Here is what he has to say about his time in ROTC:

What is your favorite memory as a cadet in the steel battalion?

“Basic Camp and Air Assault”.

What is the most valuable lesson you have learned as a cadet?

“That a good enough plan executed today is better than a perfect plan executed tomorrow”.

What are you most looking forward to about your future as an Army officer?

“Being a Platoon Leader”

Starting of our Senior Spotlights, Cadet Basilis!

Basilis is from Bronx, NYC, and is graduating from Lehigh University with a degree in Psychology. She will be joining the Army as an Active Duty Med Service Officer. Here is what she has to say about her time in ROTC:

What is your favorite memory as a cadet in the steel battalion?

“CFTX in the cold, rainy weather stands out because it pushed me beyond my comfort zone and strengthened my resilience”.

What is the most valuable lesson you have learned as a cadet?

“Mental toughness carries you further than strength ever will”.

What are you most looking forward to about your future as an Army officer?

“I’m looking forward to serving alongside soldiers, building strong teams, and making a positive impact through leadership and mentorship”.
