Happy Black History Month! Today we celebrate Anthony McGill, the first black principle clarinetist of the New York Philharmonic!

Anthony McGill is one of the most influential classical musicians of our time. He is the principal clarinetist of the New York Philharmonic, a Juilliard professor, and a recipient of the Avery Fisher Prize. A former member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, he has performed as a soloist with major orchestras worldwide and is a founding member of the chamber group ACCENTUS. Beyond the stage, McGill is a leading advocate for equity, education, and representation in classical music.
