It is with great sadness that I share the news that Jo Forman passed away on April 15, 2026.

Jo and I founded The Bill Memorial Foundation together in 1999. For more than two decades, rescue work was one of the central purposes of her life. She devoted herself to dogs that others overlooked — the difficult ones, the damaged ones, the elderly ones, the ones nobody else wanted to take responsibility for.

Anyone who worked with the foundation knew how much of herself she gave to this mission. Thousands of hours, countless sleepless nights, endless worry, endless determination — and deep love for the animals in her care.

The rescue changed many dogs’ lives, but it also brought extraordinary people into ours. Jo was profoundly grateful for the adopters, fosters, donors, volunteers, veterinarians, and friends who made that work possible over the years.

I know many people here cared about her deeply, and I wanted to make sure this community heard the news.
