There are several podcasts that I never miss an episode of, & Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast is one of them. It’s a brilliant study of the history of Universal Monsters, Marx Brothers, & character actors who have otherwise been lost to time. Which brings me to this photo…You never know who you will run into at a brothel…Gilbert was doing a gig in Reno & the club manager made him go out there to stir up some local press to promote the shows. We ate lunch together there…He had the soup. He was painfully shy the entire time, barely making eye contact with anyone, until I got him aside on the porch & brought up the filmography of Lon Chaney Jr. He came to life, & we had a conversation that I will never forget.
