Root collar excavations can be a critical tool in identifying both planting or root-growth problems in young and old trees. Additionally, removing any and all excess soil from the root flare (thank you landscapers...) is vital to a tree or shrubs positive growth and survival.

Some of the trees air-excavated today had over a foot of mulch and topsoil above their root collars, as well as several girdling roots.

Though a little early, we were honored to be a part of Manchesters celebrations, as the town recognizes its 30th anniversary as a Tree City member.

Owner Mark Cicoria, ISA Board Certified Master Arborist Ben Staples, and arborist Nicholas Paige spent the morning planting a Liberty Elm at the new Manchester Memorial Elementary School.

They were joined by two dozen students, who learned about Arbor Day and the importance of tree preservation in the modern age.

Arborist trainee/ground crew - Ideal candidate will be responsible, reliable, and physically capable of performing at a high level. For the right person, this is a great opportunity into the "green industry", and as an entrance into a potential career doing tree work.

Bucket Operators/Tree Climbers - Candidates should be 2-3 years tree work experience, and be willing to work in a team environment.

All candidates must have a valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
