With this unfortunately comes the potential for “foreign bodies.” Foreign bodies encompass anything you step on that can pe*****te the skin and even go deep into bone. Common foreign bodies can range from glass, splinters, or nails. While some of these injuries can be uneventful, other cases can lead to painful retained foreign bodies in the foot, inclusion cysts, warts, possible infections in the soft tissue and bone, or even tetanus.
